JOHN T. IMAN
2024 Advancement of Women in NDT
Recognition winner John T. Iman is
Vice President of Global Sales for VMI/
Varex Imaging and President of the ASNT
Foundation. Iman recently ended his
term on the ASNT Board of Directors
and currently serves on the Leadership
Development Committee. Previously, he
served as Vice Chair of the Technical and
Education Council from 2017 to 2019 and
has served on the Business and Finance
Committee as well as several other ASNT
committees. He was named an ASNT
Fellow in 2015 and received the 2024
Philip D. Johnson Honorary Member
Award. Additionally, he has held various
roles within ASNT’s Greater Houston
Section.
Iman is a dedicated advocate for
the NDT industry, consistently champi-
oning enhanced workforce development
programs. He is the former chair of the
Nondestructive Testing Management
Association (NDTMA) and has served on
various American Petroleum Institute (API)
committees. He is also a member of the
American Welding Society (AWS) and a
former committee member of Pipeline
Research Council International (PRCI).
Over the past decade, he has been active
in international ambassadorship for both
ASNT and the broader NDT industry.
EMILIE PELOQUIN
2024 Advancement of Women in NDT
Recognition winner Emilie Peloquin
has been in the welding and NDT
industry since 2009. She holds an asso-
ciate degree in Applied Science and is
trained in accordance with SNT-TC-1A in
all major NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, RT,
ET, and UT). Peloquin joined Olympus
(now Evident) in 2013 and has held
roles ranging from technical support to
product management, focusing on ultra-
sonic, phased array, and other advanced
inspection technologies. Now serving
as Executive Director for Global NDT
Applications Engineering at Evident, she
leads a diverse team of experts world-
wide to support customers and generate
opportunities in the NDT industry.
Peloquin is actively involved in business
and product development, supporting
various applications across multiple indus-
tries. She also serves on several Codes &
Standards committees for ASNT, ASME,
and API. Peloquin is the current ASME
Chair for the FMC Working Group, as well
as Vice Chair for the ISI Subcommittee. She
also chairs ASNT’s Diversity and Education
committees and has been a member of
the ASNT Board of Directors since 2022.
Additionally, she hosts the NDT podcast
Inspect Tech, where she explores current
industry issues and solutions.
GLENN LIGHT
2024 Mentoring Award winner Glenn
Light, PhD, has been an active member
of ASNT since 1979. He worked for
Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) for
more than 38 years, retiring in October
2016 as Director of NDE Research and
Development. After retiring, he estab-
lished his consulting company, Light NDE
Consulting LLC.
Within ASNT, Light has served as
Chair of the Research Council and the
Technical and Education Council and has
participated in the student mentoring
program for many years. He also served
on the ASNT National Board of Directors
from 2004 to 2006 and has been a
member of the ASNT Awards Council for
more than 20 years. In 2018, he received
the Lester/Mehl Honor Lecture award.
Light has published over 175 papers
and holds 22 patents in nondestructive
evaluation (NDE). He is certified as an
ASNT NDT Level III in ultrasonic and
radiographic testing and has worked
with ASNT to further establish guided
wave testing as an NDT method. He is
an ASNT Fellow (class of 2001) and has
served multiple times as chair of ASNT’s
South Texas Section.
Light also teaches NDE at the under-
graduate and graduate levels in the
mechanical engineering department at
the University of Texas at San Antonio.

DAVID MOORE
2024 Mentoring Award winner David
Moore oversees Sandia’s participation in
the US Department of Energy’s National
Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)
Component Maturation Development
Program. He works in the Nondestructive
Evaluation (NDE) Department, focusing
on ultrasonic, infrared, and advanced
noninvasive technologies. Moore leads a
multidisciplinary team qualifying the addi-
tive manufacturing process for a direct
metal laser sintering power bed fusion
machine, collaborating with the NNSA
deputy director.
Previously, Moore was principal inves-
tigator for a project between Sandia and
the US Council for Automotive Research,
where his team developed nondestruc-
tive inspection methods for adhesive
bonds in automotive metal joints, earning
two patents. He has received additional
patents and a Sandia Innovation Award
in 2017.
Before his current role, Moore spent
over 10 years as an NDE engineer
at Sandia’s Airworthiness Assurance
Nondestructive Inspection Validation
Center, leading national research
programs for the US Federal Aviation
Administration. He also worked in
the Nondestructive Inspection and
Environmental Testing group at
Honeywell’s Kansas City, Missouri, plant.
Moore holds a master’s degree in
mechanical engineering from the University
of Missouri, Columbia, and a bachelor’s
degree from the University of Missouri,
Rolla. He has mentored over 150 graduate
students and 10 PhD candidates, with two
currently working year-round at Sandia.
EDDIE POMPA
2024 Mentoring Award winner Eddie
Pompa has worked in NDT for over
30 years as an NDT Level III across the
aerospace, oil &gas, and education
sectors. He currently serves as the Safety
&Mission Assurance NDT Level III at
Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas,
and teaches NDT classes at Lone Star
College in the evenings.
Pompa has contributed to NASA’s
Space Shuttle and Artemis programs, the
International Space Station, and blowout
preventer manufacturing for oil &gas.
Now, he focuses on mentoring and
teaching young, talented students in the
area. As an NDT advocate, he serves on
ASNT’s Advocacy Committee, co-chairs
the Education Committee, attends STEM
events as an ASNT “Face of NDT,” and
promotes the field through his personal
social media platform.
His personal NDT advocate brand,
NDT Hero Universe, features superheroes
representing each NDT method. These
heroes work together to protect the
world by preventing disasters through
sound inspection and quality assurance
processes. NDT Hero artwork is shared
on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
to promote, inspire, and educate others
about NDT.
WILLIAM SCOTT ROSE
2024 Mentoring Award winner
William Scott Rose began his career in
1998 in the challenging landscapes of
Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, working in oil fields,
offshore drilling platforms, and refineries.
These seven formative years instilled resil-
ience and prepared him for the dynamic
opportunities ahead. After moving to
Houston, Texas, Rose gained diverse
experience managing subsea remotely
operated vehicles (ROVs) and overseeing
bridge construction, water towers, and
storage tanks.
In 2010, Rose’s passion for nonde-
structive testing (NDT) led him to the
aerospace industry, where he worked
with Triumph Aerostructures and Bell
Helicopter, further honing his expertise.
Today, he is an integral part of the RTX
family. Beyond his professional role, Rose
is dedicated to mentorship. As an active
volunteer in ASNT’s mentorship program,
he shares his knowledge with aspiring
NDT professionals, leading by example.
He also supports local colleges and
universities in nurturing the next gener-
ation of talent, with many of his mentees
securing positions in the aerospace
industry.
