As technology continues to evolve, industries
are adapting to new challenges and demands. This
season of Jobs of Tomorrow highlights how NDT pro-
fessionals play a critical role in ensuring safety, reli-
ability, and efficiency across sectors such as trans-
portation, energy, and infrastructure.
Episode 1: Connecting the Nation with NDT
Around the world, infrastructure is critical to
maintaining our way of life—and NDT is critical
to maintaining that infrastructure. Episode 1,
“Connecting the Nation with NDT,” highlights the
infrastructure that’s part of nearly every aspect
of our lives and the ways that NDT strengthens
the safety and longevity of this infrastructure.
The episode also discusses how emerging tech-
nologies—such as augmented reality, AI and
machine learning, and drones—are transforming
the methods used to inspect infrastructure. This
episode features interviews with industry experts
Marybeth Miceli and Shane Boone and ASNT Past
President Ricky Morgan.
Episode 2: The Sky is Not the Limit for NDT
Working behind the scenes, the field of NDT is
what has allowed our booming aviation industry
to get off the ground and take flight. This
episode features interviews with ASNT Board
directors Larry Culbertson Jr., Roger Engelbart,
and Anita Gregorian, who provide insights into
the science behind inspecting aerospace com-
ponents. Topics covered include composite
materials, innovations in equipment and data
digitization, and the role NDT will play in space
exploration in the future.
Episode 3: NDT Keeps the Pipelines Flowing
The petrochemical industry supports our way of life,
and NDT makes it possible. This episode empha-
sizes the importance of inspecting petrochemical
infrastructure—such as pipes and storage tanks—to
minimize environmental impact of these assets and
keep the public safe. ASNT President Clyde May,
Past President David Bajula, and Canadian NDTer
Paul Holloway share insights on the innovative
techniques driving the industry, the importance of
creative problem-solving, and the need for strong
ethics, codes, and standards to protect both the
NDT practitioners and the public.
Episode 4: Making Waves with NDT
Take the plunge into one of the deepest fields in
NDT—working offshore in the commercial diving
industry. This episode highlights the impor-
tance of inspecting underwater structures, from
offshore platforms and pipelines to bridge foun-
dations, emphasizing the combination of electri-
cal, mechanical, and civil engineering expertise
required to understand and inspect these struc-
tures. NDT leaders Yves Richer and Carlo Jimenez
and ASNT Board Director Joshua de Monbrun
share their diverse paths to a career in underwater
NDT and the amazing experiences they’ve had in
the field.
Episode 5: NDT: Planes, Trains, and
Automobiles
By plane, train, or automobile, NDT is working
behind the scenes to make sure we are reaching
our destinations safely. In this episode, ASNT
Vice President Jason Riggs discusses how automa-
tion and innovation have made in-service inspec-
tions of rail components more reliable NDT
expert Flynn Spears explains how complemen-
tary methods are used to inspect airplane com-
ponents and ASNT Foundation Trustee Megan
McGovern describes how NDT is used during
