Section met for dinner and an industry
tour and presentation at GSE Dynamics
(Hauppauge, NY), a manufacturer
specializing in providing complex struc-
tural assemblies direct to the US Air
Force, US Navy, and US Army, as well as
major aerospace primes. The presenta-
tion on composites inspection methods
was given by Mike Kohler, GSE Vice
President of Business Development.
Section officers elected in March were
also sworn in at the meeting.

Section met at Clinton’s Ditch Bar &
Restaurant in Schenectady for a social
hour and presentation on eddy current
inspection, addressing specific applica-
tions within the aerospace industry. A
general guide for eddy current proce-
dure and technique sheet development
were also discussed. The speaker was
Antionette “Toni” Bailey, owner of TB3
NDT Consulting LLC and Ethics Editor for
Materials Evaluation.

Ñ Members of the Southern Africa
Section gathered for a technical meeting
featuring a presentation on tank scanning
with phased array scanners, given by
Philippe Rubbers, Director at Specialist
Condition Monitoring (SCM). Rubbers
spoke about SCM’s wireless tank scanner
and discussed setting up the onboard
phased array system, configuring wireless
communication and control, planning
and executing corrosion mapping scans,
navigating common site challenges and
environmental obstacles, and trouble-
shooting and FAQs.

Consulting LLC, gave a 25-minute presentation to the Mohawk Hudson Section on 18 June, providing a brief
overview of eddy current inspection and aerospace applications. Topics covered include selecting the best frequency
for surface inspection of common aerospace materials such as titanium, low carbon steel, and aluminum alloys
optimizing high-frequency and low-frequency test probes using absolute, differential, and hybrid coils and
obtaining the best eddy current screen presentation for impedance plane testing.
