NDT HANDBOOK: THERMAL AND INFRARED TESTING, VOL. 4 The long-awaited fourth edition of ASNT’s NDT Handbook: Thermal and Infrared Testing is expected early in 2023. It has been more than 20 years since the third edition was published, and a lot has changed in the field of thermal/infrared testing. This blockbuster volume will top 700 pages and includes an expanded chapter on techniques of infrared ther- mography with specific parts devoted to pulsed thermography, inductive ther- mography, and drone-mounted infrared cameras. The chapter exploring data processing for thermal and infrared testing has also been enlarged to cover thermographic signal reconstruction, principal compo- nent thermography, partial least squares thermography, wavelet thermography, pulsed phase thermography, and thermal virtual waves. In addition to the inclusion of color images throughout, all the chap- ters in this handbook have been updated to reflect the newest practices in thermal and infrared testing. Technical Editor Xavier Maldague of Universite LaVal in Quebec, Canada, helped select contributors and reviewers from around the world for this expan- sive fourth edition. ASNT LEVEL III STUDY GUIDE: BASIC This study guide is intended to aid candi- dates preparing for the ASNT NDT Level III Basic examination and can also be useful for individuals preparing to take a Basic Level III examination under their employer’s program. The content and sample questions have been updated to reflect the 2020 editions of SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, and CP-105. Included are inquiries and responses from ASNT’s SNT-TC-1A Interpretation Panel for in-depth understanding. An extensive section is devoted to the general application of 11 different NDT methods, including topical outlines from the 2020 edition of CP-105, refer- ences, and method-specific questions and answers. This book also includes entire sections from both SNT-TC-1A and CP-189, instead of the small excerpts used in previous editions.
